In this lesson, students will look at another representation of ratio relationships: ratios plotted on a coordinate plane. Students learn to use the numerators and denominators of equivalent ratios in ratio tables as values in ordered pairs, which describe points on a coordinate plane.
Module 1 Video
In this video, we first reference previous understandings about ratios and then move on to representing equivalent ratios on a coordinate plane.
Module 2 Video
In this video, students participate in a demonstration of comparing ratios by plotting points on the coordinate plane. Students use plotted ratios for 6 rectangles height-to-length ratios in order to estimate the height-to-length ratio of the original rectangle presented at the beginning of the video.
